Treatment for Your Family
If you are a professional working with a referring agency or one of our public partners and would like to learn more about Family Centered Treatment®, click here.
At IFCS, we believe kids belong with their families whenever it is safe and possible. That’s why we developed Family Centered Treatment® (FCT©). FCT is an evidence-based family preservation model—in other words, it’s a service that helps keep families together that is proven to work.
*Based on reports produced by FamiliFirst using averages of data collected over a five-year period.
No two families are alike, and we designed FCT to be flexible, enabling us to tailor treatment to fit each family’s needs. Because we can personalize the services included in FCT, families facing a range of challenges can benefit. With the child’s best interest at heart, we work with:
- Families facing out-of-home placements
- Children reentering the family home
- Juvenile offenders
- Children with mental health challenges
We are also able to serve families who don’t speak English as a first language. Our multilingual specialists are able to work with families who speak a variety of languages including Spanish, Portuguese, and Creole.
We developed FCT to help improve family life and functioning. Our dedicated family centered specialists work closely with you and your family to get to the heart of problem behaviors and to find ways to change them for the better.
We offer practical solutions to everyday situations like getting the family ready in the morning, maintaining discipline, and keeping the kids on track at school and to more complex issues, including helping families who have experienced trauma. We provide the tools and therapeutic support needed to help families heal and move forward.
Because family life happens at home, our dedicated specialists meet with you and your family in your home and community. We are with you every step of the way, helping you and your family make positive, lasting changes, guiding you through the four phases of Family Centered Treatment®: Joining and Assessment, Restructuring, Value Change, and Generalization. Because every family is different, the intensity and duration of the phases may vary, but the average length of treatment is six months.
Each phase includes:
- Skills training
- Trauma treatment
- Community resources coordination
We treat everyone with respect. We believe that entering your home is our privilege, not our right, and that we are there to serve you. No one knows your family better than you do. That’s why, as part of our approach, we put you in charge of the process. Our job is to provide the support, guidance, and tools you and your family need to succeed.
We believe success comes from working together, so instead of just treating the child, we engage the whole family. We work with you and your family in your home and community, at times and days that are convenient for you. Our team is with you every step of the way, available 24/7 to answer any questions and help resolve conflict.
We focus on your family’s strengths, and we empower you to make positive changes that last.
