The Institute for Family Centered Services (IFCS) is a privately owned organization founded in 1988. IFCS became a partner
in The MENTOR Network in 2009. Since the company’s inception, IFCS has grown significantly and currently provides services in 5
states:
Virginia,
Maryland,
North Carolina,
Florida, and now including
Massachusetts added in 2012.
IFCS currently employs over 350 staff throughout 25 regions of the company, actively serving over 3000 families annually.
Throughout its 24 years of providing services, IFCS has earned the reputation for successfully serving families with the most
challenging and difficult circumstances, utilizing powerful and rigorous interventions via intensive in home services to maximize
community safety. Family Centered Treatment® (FCT), a family
systems model of treatment, has developed from IFCS' practical and performance oriented methods. IFCS provides, through FCT,
an evidence based and best practices service that is effective with families and specialty populations, including, but not
limited to, families at risk for breakup or out of home placement, sexual abuse, and offenders, substance abuse, and various
disabilities.

IFCS in the News & Literature
May 2012: William E. Painter, Jr., MS, IFCS Senior Director of Organizational Development,
has been selected to present at the Family Foster-based Treatment Association (FFTA) 26th Annual Conference on Treatment
Foster Care, July 22 - 25. Mr. Painter's workshop is titled, Provision of Family Centered Treatment® to
Enable Successful Reunification. An article by Mr. Painter titled, A Strategic Approach to
Reunification for Juveniles with Placements Out of Home was published in the FFTA FOCUS Spring 2012 Newsletter.
